1. What do you think is the retirement age for men and women?

From what I can recall, I am pretty sure it is early to mid 50s for women, and 60 for men. Though, it was set during a time in which life expectancy was far lower than it is today. It’s great as an individual, but not so great overall. I mean, how much longer can we support a large number of pensioners?

2. What kinds of qualities do people need to run their own business?

The essential qualities are perseverance and the ability to spot opportunities. A lot of the time, the ability to run a successful business comes down to your willingness to stick with a problem and captialise on an opportunity that others had not yet done. Many billionaires are not geniuses, they just spotted an opportunity and made it happen.

3. What do you think are the key factors that contribute to the success of a business?

I would say that the ability to adapt is crucial to a business’s success. There are many corporations that dominated the market, but were disrupted by a university student in a dorm room, and now they no longer exist. The world and the demands of the market are always changing, especially in the modern world. It’s pretty much survival of the fittest.

4. If you had the opportunity to have your own business, what business would it be? Why?

I would love to have my own video game company someday. See, I have been an avid gamer since I was like 6 years old. It’s probably one of my biggest hobbies. So, to be able to actually produce my own games and be behind the process would be a dream come true. I would be able to make money from doing what I love.

1.What kinds of exercises do Chinese people like?

Typically, Chinese people are fond of exercises which are low in intensity, but offer physical and mental health benefits. Examples include walking and tai chi. Many of the popular exercises are performed solo, but people in China are also fond of group exercise which allow for a competitive outlet, such as basketball and football.

2. What characteristics do you think an athlete should have?

Athletes should possess a willingness to put the team’s success before their own glory, if it’s a team sport of course. The team should not have to suffer because an individual in that team thought they were more important. All athletes should be respectful. Without their opposition, they would not have a game. So respect for people, even your opponent, is important.

3. Why are there so few top athletes?

Quite simply, an insane level of skill is required to be at the top. Look at the NBA for example, Even the average players are extremely skilled. After all, they are competing at the highest level in the world. To actually be a top athlete, you have to make these other highly skilled players look near incompetent in comparison to you.

4. What’s the best way to become a top athlet

From what I gather, it is a combination of discipline and insatiable desire to improve. Many of the top athletes are never satisfied with their level of skill, they are forever seeking to improve. If they don’t improve further, then others can catch up to them or their skills will stagnate. Other than that, top athletes are disciplined. They make training a frequent occurrence.

范 文

Having a healthy life style is important for each of us, and playing sports is a good way to keep active and fit. Some people believe team sports, like football, basketball and baseball have the most benefit, while others argue that individual sports, like swimming, running and surfing, are better. This essay will discuss both views and give my own opinion.

keep active and fit

Individual sports build and foster mental toughness. They demand we set personal goals, and that we focus and work hard to achieve them. For example, a swimmer may set a goal to swim a length in acertain time. Because they must rely on themselves to achieve this, they build the self discipline required to get up and practise each morning, and to remain focused, even if they suffer setbacks. By doing so, individual sports also help to build one’s confidence – by reaching these personal ambitions, the individual gains a strong sense of accomplishment.

However, I believe that team sports have more far-reaching benefits. Primarily, team sports teach us important social skills, like communicating effectively and building harmonious relationships. For example, a football player learns how to communicate with his teammates when strategising for a game, and to do so in a communal, collaborative environment. Furthermore, team sports help us to make new friends, avoiding the feelings of solitude and loneliness that individual sports can create. These skills go beyond the playing field, helping people to make real connections outside of sport, and providing us with skills we can use in all aspects of life.

strategising for a game

Though there are benefits to all sports, be they individual or team structured, I believe thatsports played with others are better at providing us with skills that can benefit us on both a personal and social level.

I would say so. A culture is a reflection of a country , it represents the country’s values and traditions. Our culture is a part of us. represent When we move, we tend to bring our culture with us. 2.Do you think it’s important to know the culture and language before going to another country?

Honestly, it depends on why you are going to another country. If it’s just for a holiday, it is not so important. 3.What do you think of people who work in international companies?

I think they are looking to broaden their horizons and I respect them for it. Working in an international company is not always easy. It can bring many people outside of their comfort zone. part3 9-12月雅思口语新题【有创造力的人】满分素材

1. Who are more creative, children or adults?

I would have to go with children in this case. That’s not to say that adults are incapable of creativity; in fact, it’s quite the opposite. Unfortunately, many adults have had their dreams shot down and are afraid to think big. Children have not been exposed to this, so they luckily have not suppressed their creative thinking.

2.Is it good for children to learn arts?

Oh absolutely. See, creativity should be harnessed as it is an invaluable tool in life. It can lead to jobs in creative fields, the creation of masterpieces and even innovative ideas that disrupt the market. But all this should be started at a young age. The more creative someone is while they are young, the better off they will be in the long run.

3. What kinds of jobs require people to be creative?

Surprisingly most jobs require creativity if you want to operate at the highest level. Take an engineer for example. They need intelligence to get to the level of actually being an engineer. However, if they wish to be innovative and create new machines or systems for instance, they need the creative ability to actually envision what their innovative product will be.

envision 预想

4. Do you think leaders need to have creative ability?

I would even go a step further and say that it is a vital quality of leadership. Some of the greatest military leaders in human history are revered for their creative approaches to battle that had never even been previously considered.

1. Why are people friendly with the person they don’t like?

I’d say it comes down to personal values and empathy. You may not like someone, but if you desire to be friendly trumps your dislike for them, it I s understandable that you would be nice to them. Also just because you don’t like someone doesn’t necessarily mean you want to, you know, hurt their feelings.

2. What kinds of people are usually friendly?

Well, there are the types who are friendly because they realise it is beneficial to be friendly. If you are kind to someone, they are likely to be kind in return. On the other hand, you have people who are naturally friendly, and do it because it’s simply who they are. They don’t need a reason to be friendly to others.

3. What are the differences between being friendly and being polite?

That’s a good question. I’d say the main difference is that when you are polite, it’s not coming from the heart. Most people are generally polite, but that is just a social expectation. To actually be friendly, means you are willing to go the extra mile and be genuinely kind to someone, you may even go out of your way for them.

4. What do you think of the people who are always straightforward?

Let’s see, I honestly respect their truthfulness. It’s a breath of fresh air. Most people don’t share their true thoughts with others, whether out of politeness or an unwillingness to deal with the potential consequences. Many just say what people expect them to say. So, to find someone who does not care and will always be upfront is refreshing.

1.Why do people always miss their childhood?

I think it’s a case of not so much missing when they were a child, but missing the lack of responsibility and worries that came with being a child. I mean, we are talking about a time in most people’s lives where they did not have to work or worry too much about their future.

2.Are kids happier than adults? Why?

I would say so, yeah. See, children have a very innocent world view and think the best of everyone. Most children also haven’t gone through tough experiences. When you become an adult, you realise that life isn’t all rainbows and sunshine. In addition, you also face societal pressures that can make you unhappy.

3.Why do people still remember many of their friends from primary school?

Well, we’re referring to a time in their life where things were simple and life had minimal struggles. Since we have fond memories of those times, we remember them better. So by extension, we remember our friends from primary school.

There was this one time where I was feeling down, my pet had just passed away. I tried not to draw too much attention to myself and it worked for the most part. However, she could just tell that I was sad, guess I wasn’t my usual self that day. Anyway, she sat with me and even bought me a juice. For a primary school student, that would’ve costed a fortune; but, she did it for me. She never asked for anything in return either, but I wasn’t going to let her kindness go unrewarded, so I bought her a chocolate bar. I haven’t seen her in a long time, but I really hope she’s doing well. If there was ever a person who deserved to live a good life, I would say that she is that person.

Some people think advertising may have positive economic effects. Others think it has negative social effects because individuals are not satisfied with who they are and what they have. Discuss both views and giveyour opinion.

BrainstormI started by brainstorming on the positive economic effects of advertising, and then what the negative social effects might be. I also researched the subject through articles in The New Yorker,Forbes magazine, The Guardian and CNN, and read articles from finance, psychology and advertising websites. I then listed the points.

Positive economic effects

  • Boosts the economy by people spending
  • Creates healthy competition by producers and manufacturers – no monopoly
  • Creates a desire for better and more efficient products – makes money and makes our lives easier
  • Demand for products means more jobs

Negative social effects

  • People never satisfied withwhat they have so keep consuming
  • People keep consuming so they get into debt
  •  Constant comparison to what other people have经常与别人比较
  • Technology changing all the time, so new products soon become old and obsolete
  • Creates waste – bad for the environment
  • People work longer hours to have more money to spend – neglect health, family

Paragraph One

I decided the first paragraph would focus on the positive economic effects, and chose two points to focus on.

  • Boosts the economy by people spending
  • Demand for products means more jobs

Paragraph Two

In the second paragraph, I gave my own opinion and focused on two specific negative social effects of advertising.

  • Creates waste – bad for the environment
  • People work longer hours to have more money to spend – neglect health, family

Key Words and Phrases

As advertising becomes increasingly pervasive 充斥各处的 and invasive 浸袭的 , concerns and questions have arisen regarding the effects it may be having on the economy and on society. Some people believe the economic effects are positive, whereas others argue the social effects of advertising are negative. This essay will discuss both views and offer my own opinion.

Of course, advertising creates a desire in people to spend, and by spending, a nation’s economy is boosted This furthers economic growth 推进经济增长, so companies have more cash to procure capital 筹集资金, improve technology 改善技术, expand and grow. These increase productivity and further stimulate the economy. Furthermore, they are able to spend on infrastructure, which in turn creates more jobs for more workers. This way, more people are able to make a living. It can also create further economic growth – for example, construction of a new highway also entails 使成为必需 other investments, like gas stations, cafes and retail stores 零售商店.

However, I agree that the negative social effects of advertising cannot be ignored, and outweigh the economic positives. Firstly, advertising and the desire it creates in people to spend more and more money means people have to work longer hours in order to buy. This means they spend more time away from their families, which can cause real damage to relationships.Furthermore, they may also neglect their own health, causing illness and more bills. Secondly, by incessantly purchasing products, we create real damage to the environment and our health – many products are not sustainable or recyclable, may be toxic or create heavy air pollution. One study found that the production and use of household goods was responsible for at least 60% of global greenhouse gas emissions
Though advertising creates a demand for products that do help the economy, we cannotafford to ignore 不容忽视 the detrimental impact 有害影响 it has on our society. We must ensure a balance is found.

1. Do you like talking with people?

I do like talking with people but it depends on the person. If I really like the person then I can talk to them for ages, but if I don’t really like them then I don’t want to talk to them. Personally, I like time alone so it depends how I am feeling or how tired I am, I need to have the energy. It also depends on the subject, if I am really interested in it then I like talking about it with others.

2. How do you like spending time with your friends?

When I’m with my friends I like to just hang out with them. I love eating so I like going to cafes or restaurants with my friends. Other times, like in summer I like to go to the beach, or in winter I like skiing or watching movies. If we are at home, then I like listening to music or just talking.

3. Would you prefer to study alone or with others?

I prefer to study alone because it’s much less distracting for me, I find that I can concentrate better when I am alone. Also, I can listen to my own music – honestly, some people have really bad taste in music! It depends though, if I am learning a language I like to study with friends because then we can practise speaking in another language with each other.

4. Do you remember a time when you needed to cooperate with others?

At university last year, for my Spanish class we had to do a group project between three of us, and present a slideshow about Colombia. It had to be done in Spanish, and we decided to split the jobs, so I did the speaking, another person did the music, and another person did the graphics. It was fun, because I liked my classmates, but it was hard because we had very different personalities! We just had to be patient and listen to each other.
