PART1人物类-学习工作

Q1:Do you like your subject (Why?/Why not?)

I like marketing as a subject. It’s very interesting learning about how companies develop their strategies to compete in the marketplace. There are many facets to marketing including research, statistics, strategy development, advertising and customer loyalty. I like doing assignments in marketing because we’re generally asked to do research on a specific company. When it compares to exam time, I don’t find it hard to study because I’m naturally intrigued by the material.

Q2:Are you looking forward to working?

I am looking forward to getting a fulltime job in my chosen field. Even though I enjoy studying, working opens up so many doors for me. I am eager to meet new people, take on fresh challenges and learn more about how companies operate. I find the idea of earnings a fulltime wage appealing as well. I’ll have the option to go on more holidays and buy the things I like. However, I will have less free time when I compare my lifestyle

to studying. This is a ‘catch 22’ situation. Both have benefits and drawbacks.

Q3:Do you prefer studying in the mornings or in the afternoon?

I prefer studying in the mornings. I feel like I get a natural energy in the morning which makes it easier to concentrate and retain information. The only difficulty is getting up early in the mornings and motivating myself to study. I also thought that if I can get my studying done in the morning it frees up more time in the afternoon and evenings to do other things.

Q4:Do you miss being a student?

In some ways I do and in others I don’t. Firstly, the student lifestyle was easygoing and relaxing. It was straightforward managing my workload and there wasn’t as much pressure to do work all the time. I was also able to see my friends more often during the week. On the other hand, I don’t miss not having much money to spend and only being able to treat myself once in a blue moon.

Q5:Do you like your job?

For the most part I enjoy my job as an accountant. It is rewarding being at the forefront of the company’s finances and knowing everything that is going on. During the year there is pressure to complete some major tasks, but it helps to keep me interested. At times I wish my boss would cut me some slack as he can be quite pushy, though overall, I enjoy what I do for work.
